I really like this IDE and development environment. It has become my favorite way to develop software. I also find it to be an excellent and convenient HTML editor. I just wish I could move back and forth between web developer and c++ developer setting easily.

Beyond Compare is one of the necessities of software development. When you need to compare the contents of files in two different directories, this is the product you need. Inexpensive, with intuitive operation, with advanced features when you need them.

If you have to work with Oracle, with a focus on development and not system administration, this is the software for you. I find this product more convenient than Toad for writing and debugging PL/SQL code. It is also far less expensive than Toad.

Open Source Editor. Every feature under the sun. Simple enough to use as a notepad replacement. Has the features every developer and script writer wants. I really like the macro feature. This editor reminds me of an old 16 but editor call See, that shipped with the Desmet C compiler. It is definitely my favorite and I choose it over Textpad every time.
Notepad++

Regular expression development tool. The development tab is very helpful for folks like me that work with regular expressions on an irregular basis.
