Cash For Clunkers, and what the Wall Street bloggers are saying...

by Codewiz51 August 06, 2009 19:02

It is sad but true.

Bankers rejoicing for cash for clunkers.

This is one of the more interesting, not mainstream and perhaps a little wacky financial bloggers out there: Chris Martenson.  However, he does some nice sleuthing and he is attacked from a lot of different sources.  This particular post is about an unregulated "independent" financial arm of the US Government purchasing debt from the federal government.  It's similar to having a wife that doesn't work.  She agrees to pay off your credit card debt by borrowing money - from herself.  And she's not independently wealthy.

I guess as long as we, the citizens, have faith, the greenback is good no matter how much the Federal Reserve monetizes the debt.  At least that is what Washington is betting on.  As long as we don't buy goods and services from overseas, we'll never notice the difference.
