Paul Farrell hits the nail on the head!

Twenty some odd years ago, I was sitting on the shore of Blue Lake (Vermillion Bay, Ontario), reading a Winnipeg newspaper.  An op-ed piece from a conservative MP shocked me. He sounded more liberal than the left wing elements of the Democratic Party in 1984!

America is now in the same place. There are no conservatives or liberals, Democrats or Republicans (or moral leaders of either persuasion) inside the Beltway. There is only greed, lobbyists and politicians running for re-election. Forty two thousand lobbyists run this country. Wallstreet suits are unloading debt on to the tax payer's back as fast as the treasury can print. And we, the tax payers, continue to borrow like there is no tomorrow.
