Yahoo Groups, DomainKeys and Spam

by Codewiz51 February 09, 2009 20:37

I originally liked the idea of Yahoo's DomainKeys. Functionally, it seems like it should work quite well.

However, I receive most of my spam from Yahoo Groups.  No, I don't want to see pictures of Kelly or Sally or Nadia. I don't want herbal pills to "enhance my whatever." I am one of the only people on earth that thinks E-Bay is a scam. Why would you think I would buy or rent from you?

So what is the point of DomainKeys if Yahoo is going to sell my e-mail address to spammers and then allow them to send me spam from a bogus Yahoo Group?

Hello. Does anyone see the weak link here? It's not DomainKeys. It's Yahoo management. DomainKeys is a great idea. Just appoint someone that has no commericial interest in generating traffic to administer it. What's the use of Spam control if the company management thinks spammer "A" is ok, because he paid, but spammer "B" is bad because he sends for free?
