Jerusalem Grill, Trilogy Bistro, India Palace - San Antonio

My lunch bunch decided to try Jerusalem Grill today.  I have to recommend this San Antonio restaurant.  Great lunch, both from the menu and cafeteria style. My only complaint? I ate too much humus and pita before my chicken kabobs arrived.  Lunch bunch decision?  Thumbs up.

Last week we tried Trilogy Pizza and Wine Bistro.  Simply the best pizza I've tasted in San Antonio.  Not your typical buffet style lunch pizza - you pay one price and then order from a list of pizzas on the buffet list.  You order your pizza(s) and they bring them to your table.  Six guys, four pizzas = full stomach.  Way full.  (For a smaller group, they bring you pizza slices.) This place is too far away from SwRI to visit often, but it is definitely on the dinner menu for most of us.  Ambiance is much better than what we are used to at lunch.  Lunch bunch decision?  Thumbs up.

We also visited India Palace lunch buffet last week.  This place is a favorite with the lunch bunch.  My experience leaves me ambivalent.  The food was not particularly good - not bad, just not well seasoned.  Ambiance was negative.  IP as it is known offers about a dozen entrees and side dishes.  There were no aromatic relishes or sauces to accent the dishes.  (I consider this to be a major shortcoming.)  The lunch bunch likes IP.  It is definitely the place to go if you want to fill up.  This place is crowded and obviously popular with the lunch crowd in SA.  I give it a thumbs sideways.

Next on my list to try?

Turquoise Grill - Turkish restaurant.  Adventure awaits. Menu looks excellent.

Mina & Dimi's Greek House - This is a lunch bunch favorite.  Word is Air Force personnel descend on this place at lunch en masse.  Go early or plan on having dinner.  Buffet on Fridays.

Also rans on my list to visit: Goomba's Pizza and Acadianna.  (These web sites use a lot of Flash scripts and displays.  Looks great but kind of slow.)
