Can Apple's iPad Spur Economic Recovery?

First off, I'd like to wish my Mom a Happy Mother's Day!  Where would we all be without our Moms?

Can Apple's iPad Spur Economic Recovery?

I was taken aback by the headline.  There is a mild comparison with IBM's introduction of the personal computer back in 1983.  The point of the article is that the iPAD is a game changer.  Personally, I don't think so.  Until Apple can effectively invade the business world, going beyond glowing analysts' remarks and make it's way into the guts of financial analysis, it's not going to change the world.  The decision is still out regarding corporate business use of tablet PCs and their use in investment decisions.  I am a big fan of some of the things Apple is trying to accomplish.  However, in my world, MS Excel still rules.  Until something else comes along to replace MS Excel, PCs executing MS Office will rule the business world.

In a similar analogy, I can live without an iPhone, but I would find it much more difficult to live without any sort of cell phone.

I also happened across the article.  Whilst I am not a fan of AMD, this is certainly an indication of where the world is headed and multi-core CPUs are definitely changing the game.  Welcome to the World of 12 Cores
