Regarding all the media ruckus about the TSA and its search techniques, a quote from Benjamin Franklin comes to mind:
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - 1775, Ben Franklin
In fact, a second variation of Franklin's thoughts on liberty needs be brought up. It applies to all the bureaucrats who keep telling us how safe we are with them at the helm in our airports: "Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power." - Poor Richard's Almanac, 1738.
